CELF-4 Word Classes 1 (WC1, Ages 5- 7); Before administering any subtest items, present the demonstration and trial items so that the student can practice the task and become familiar with the stimuli. Start Point for all ages: Item 1; Materials Needed: Stimulus Book 1; Repetitions: Allowed; Discontinue Rule: After zero scores on the receptive part of 7 consecutive items. Receptive: Circle the words that the student gives in response. Circle 1 for a correct pair and 0 for an incorrect pair. The correct choices are in color. Even if the student gives an incorrect word pair, present the second part of the item. Expressive: Ask the student if two words go together. Evaluate answer based on the list of correct responses. If the student's response is similar or close to one of the responses, circle it and score it as 1 point. If the student gives a response that is not listed, write it in the space provided.
