This subtest is timed, 60 seconds is allowed for each part. Show the printed words ANIMALS to the child. Leave the stimulus page open for the duration of the task. Say," I want you to name as many animals as you can in 1 minute. Can you think of an animal?"If the child names an animal, say, " Good. Name as many animals as you can, Start now' (start timing and write words the child says in the box for the appropriate time intervals.) If the child stops before the minute is up, prompt, "Keep going. You have more time." Only prompt once, but keep timing until the 60 seconds is up. Discontinue rule: None. Repetition: If teh child asks or does not respond within 10 seconds, repeat the directions once.
