Similarities measures consist of 24 items, including 3 initial picture items. Examinees are required to verbally describe the relationship between two objects or concepts presented orally by the examiner. 6 to 8 year olds begin with the 3 initial pictured items in which they select one pictured item from a selection of 4 that fits within the same semantic category (e.g., vehicles) as 2 sample items (e.g., a car and a truck). 9 to 90 year old examinees begin with the orally presented items, starting item 4. Ages 6-8 stop after item 22. All ages discontinue after 3 consecutive scores of 0.
